Wednesday @ 11:30 am CT or on demand after program Click here to Watch Join host Ann J White as she chats with singer, songwriter, survivor and more - Dorothy LeBlanc - sharing her music to inspire and uplift. Dorothy says: "I'm passionate about leaving a positive footprint on the world. I learned that from the woman who defined positivity, my mom. You know, it never ceases to amaze me how intricately the music of the 1940's and the lifestyle and attitudes of the time reflect an attitude of togetherness and survival. In the midst of such a challenging, often painful time, the music would, for the most part, lift you up! WWii broke out, my dad and so many Americans went off to war, leaving loved ones behind...yet songs like "Accentuate the Positive" reigned supreme! Music therapy for the country as a whole, at its finest! I want to write songs of that ilk, and share them with the world. Songs that make you feel empowered and understood, songs that challenge you and make you want to be the best version of you. Songs that heal." Dorothy also does music therapy with Alzheimer's patients. She often performs the songs of the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s to groups of senior citizens in the community. She began my career as a children's musician, and still performs at some early learning centers and at festivals in our area of Louisiana. Tune in live or on demand and meet this inspiring woman. Uma Girish, Hay House author of Losing Amma, Finding Home, CCN Radio Host of The Grammar of Grief, Grief Guide and Coach shares her memories and thoughts about the Hindu Festival Diwali, The Festival of Lights.
